I picked it … The Octatrack has a second stereo Cue output and four inputs, so you can actually set up a really nice aux send/return loop with an external FX unit if you want to use some different processors. I'm not keen on the Octatrack's reverbs so I have it set up in this manner with a cheap little TC Electronic M100 which has some surprisingly lush reverb algorithms on it. Under Ableton Live, it's easy to change tempo for the OT is different, or changing from one tempo to another way manual (I turn a knob until the desired value) or I have to load another project (and thus stop the sound!) . BCQ for users of the OT, it seems that their live is composed of a single SET live always with the same tempo. A USB I think the octatrack would give you something a bit different vs the maschine set up, while the MPC live will more likely give you a direct comparison to maschine and from what I have heard people who do this comparison usually quickly bail on the MPC live and run back to maschine. It is with the power of the Octatrack that I can design and perform a live set or a group of tracks with relative ease, whilst making them fun, unique and engaging to both perform and listen to. Originally released in 2011, the Octatrack DPS-1 was widely adopted by the music making masses because of it's complexity, incredible sound design capabilities and performance capabilities. Sets are completely self contained. If the same set is being used by two Octatracks both units will load the same sample content and will settings wise be exactly the same, given both units have the same project loaded and the same OS version installed. Page 28: Create And Mount A Set

This has improved drastically my Live Set workflow, as now I can use inexpensive USB equipment as MIDI controllers for my music, and control the octatrack sampler in ways simply not possible with the default hardware layout.
